A Vodien Alternative For Singapore WordPress Sites
Who This Is For
You host a WordPress site with Vodien, the renewal notice has arrived, and you want to know what else Singapore has before you pay it. This is a straight comparison of the two, with every Vodien figure taken from vodien.com and observed in October 2026, plus one lesson from the sites we have actually moved off it.
Key Takeaways
- Vodien’s wpValue plan is S$8.51 a month on a one-year term, marked down five per cent from S$8.96, before GST, observed on vodien.com in October 2026.
- Neither the WordPress nor the web hosting plan page prints a renewal rate, and the WordPress plan page prints no storage figure or site count.
- Vodien includes one-click staging, a temporary domain, SSH, WP-CLI and Git on its WordPress plans, and a phone line answered 4am to 8pm.
- On the sites we moved off Vodien, the bare domain needed forwarding set up elsewhere, because Vodien’s DNS offered neither an ALIAS record nor URL forwarding at the apex.
- Our Build plan is 24 US dollars a month, or 20 billed yearly, and renews at the same price; Vodien is cheaper and we will not pretend otherwise.
What Vodien Is Genuinely Good At
Vodien sells the whole small-business bundle in one account, and that is not a small thing. One plan gives you the website, cPanel on the web hosting tiers, mailboxes on your own domain, a free SSL certificate and somewhere to register the domain itself, so there is one login and one invoice. The company has been doing this in Singapore for a long time, and its web hosting page claims more than 1.7 million businesses, so the billing, the support rota and the transfer process are all well worn.
The WordPress plans are better specified than most local shared hosts. Every plan lists one-click staging with a sync back to live, a temporary domain to build on, SSH and SFTP access, WP-CLI, Git, automatic core updates, DDoS protection, 24/7 monitoring and a 30-day money-back guarantee, on NVMe storage. Support is a Singapore phone number answered from 4am to 8pm and live chat at any time, and the pages carry a 99.9 per cent uptime guarantee.
And the move in is somebody else’s job. Vodien advertises a free hosting transfer and an automated WordPress migration tool. We do not move sites for anyone.
Where It Actually Hurts

Four things, all checkable on Vodien’s own pages in October 2026.
The price depends on the length of the commitment, and the renewal rate is not published. The WordPress plans bill on one, two or three-year terms. wpValue is S$8.51 a month on the one-year term, marked down five per cent from S$8.96, with wpPlus at S$13.98 and wpUltimate at S$21.88. The shared plans bill on three months, six months, one year or two years, and webValue is S$9.41 a month on the three-month term, from S$11.33. All prices are in Singapore dollars before GST. What no plan page states is what the second term costs, and that is the number a business budgets against.
The WordPress plan page does not publish a storage figure or a site count. The web hosting tiers do: webValue is 15 GB of NVMe storage, unmetered bandwidth, five websites, ten email accounts and five databases on a shared cPanel server with CloudLinux and CageFS. The WordPress plans list shared features but no per-plan limits.
Backups are listed, but not the retention or whether you can restore one yourself. The WordPress page says automated backups are included and leaves it there. Vodien also sells a separate Website Backup add-on for the cPanel plans; we could not re-read that page this month, so check it before you rely on it.
The uptime figure is written three ways. The WordPress page’s hero says 99 per cent, the badge further down says 99.9, and the web hosting page says 99.99. The 99.9 per cent guarantee is the one repeated in their body copy, so that is the one to ask about in writing.
Vodien And Oxyforge Compared
Vodien figures from vodien.com, observed October 2026, taking wpValue as the entry WordPress plan and webValue as the entry shared plan, in Singapore dollars before GST. Where a cell says “not published”, we could not find it stated on their site and would rather leave a gap than guess. We are not quoting an exchange rate, so compare the currencies yourself on the day.
| Vodien | Oxyforge | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price, monthly and annual | wpValue S$8.51/month on a one-year term, from S$8.96. No monthly cycle on the WordPress plans. Shared webValue S$9.41/month on a three-month term, from S$11.33. SGD, excluding GST | Build 24 USD/month, or 20/month billed yearly at 240/year. Grow 48 or 40. Scale 96 or 80. No setup fee |
| Renewal price | Not published on the plan pages | The same. The price you sign up at is the price you renew at |
| Singapore region | Yes, Singapore servers | Yes, Google Cloud Singapore, and nowhere else |
| Sites included | Not published on the WordPress plan page. Shared webValue lists 5 websites | Build 1, Grow 3, Scale 10 |
| Storage and bandwidth | Not published on the WordPress plan page. Shared webValue lists 15 GB NVMe and unmetered bandwidth | Build 10 GB and 50 GB bandwidth, Grow 20 and 100, Scale 30 and 200. Pooled across the account, with optional per-site caps |
| Staging | Included on the WordPress plans, one click, with a sync back to live | Included on every plan, one click |
| Backups and self-restore | Automated backups listed on the WordPress plans. Retention and self-restore not published | Nightly files and database, kept 30 days, restored yourself from the members area. A pre-restore backup is taken automatically, so a restore is reversible |
| Isolation | Shared cPanel server with CloudLinux and CageFS on the web hosting plans. Per-site isolation on the WordPress plans not published | Own container, own Unix user and own MySQL database per site |
| Migration | Vodien do it. Free hosting transfer and an automated WordPress migration tool advertised | Self-service. We do not move sites for customers |
| Support | Singapore phone line 4am to 8pm, live chat any time, 24/7 technical support listed. 99.9 per cent uptime guarantee | Ticket from the members area, read by the people who run the platform. No phone line, no published response time, no uptime SLA |
Underneath, every site here gets its own container, its own Unix user and its own MySQL database, with an nginx page cache, a Redis object cache, PHP 8.3 or 8.4 chosen per site, and MySQL 8.4. Cloudflare sits in front for CDN and DDoS protection. SFTP, WP-CLI and a database manager are on every plan, every new site comes up on its own temporary address, and any environment can be password protected while you work on it. The detail is on the pricing page and the WordPress hosting page.
What Moving Costs You

An afternoon of your own time, because the migration is yours to run. We have no migration team and would rather tell you that than advertise one we cannot staff. Vodien will move a site in for free. We will not move one in at all.
The day looks like this. Create the site, and it comes up at once on its own temporary address. Copy the Vodien site onto that address with a migration plugin, or by hand over SFTP and WP-CLI if the site is large. Then check it properly: forms, logins, checkout, the pages that earn money. Vodien keeps serving your visitors the whole time, so there is no window where the site is down. When you are satisfied, point the domain’s www record here and close the old plan. The full walkthrough is in moving your site.
Two things to plan for first, and the second is specific to Vodien. Your mailboxes do not travel with the website, because there is no mail here at all, so move them to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or a mail host and leave the MX records pointed there. And the bare domain needs handling before the switch. Our platform takes the www name, and the bare name reaches it through an ALIAS-style record or URL forwarding. On the sites we have moved off Vodien, its DNS offered neither at the apex, so the bare domain’s forwarding had to be set up at a registrar or DNS host that does, Cloudflare being the usual answer. It is a one-time job, and the one step that catches people out.
Who Should Stay Put
If your staff email lives in your hosting plan, if you have five small sites sharing one cPanel account, if any of them is not WordPress, if somebody in the business is used to cPanel and does not want to learn anything else, or if a Singapore phone number and a 99.9 per cent uptime guarantee are things you want in writing, stay with Vodien. They publish both and we publish neither. We are a narrow product: managed WordPress, Singapore only, no mail, no cPanel, no phone line, no uptime SLA, and the move is your own job. That suits a business with one or a few WordPress sites that genuinely earn their keep, and it is poor value for a brochure site nobody touches. For small business sets out which you probably are.
What To Do Next
- Ask Vodien in writing what wpValue renews at, and what storage and how many sites your plan includes, because those are the figures their WordPress plan page does not print.
- Create the site on Oxyforge. It comes up at once on its own temporary address.
- Copy your Vodien site onto that address with a migration plugin, or over SFTP and WP-CLI, following moving your site. The move is your own job, and we do not do it for you.
- Test forms, logins, checkout and the pages that earn money, while Vodien keeps serving your visitors.
- Move the mailboxes, set up forwarding for the bare domain somewhere that supports it, then point the www record here and close the old plan. Compare the three plans on the pricing page before you begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Oxyforge cheaper than Vodien?
No. Vodien lists wpValue at S$8.51 a month on a one-year term, observed on vodien.com in October 2026, and our Build plan is 24 US dollars a month, or 20 billed yearly. The gap buys one site in its own container with its own Unix user and MySQL database, nightly backups kept 30 days that you restore yourself, staging, and a price that does not move at renewal.
What does Vodien charge at renewal?
Vodien’s WordPress and web hosting plan pages do not print a renewal rate, observed October 2026. The figures shown are term prices, and the WordPress plans bill on one, two or three-year terms, so ask Vodien in writing what the second term costs before you sign. Our price is the same at renewal as on the day you signed up.
Will Oxyforge move my site off Vodien for me?
No. Migration here is self-service, which is a real difference from Vodien, which advertises a free hosting transfer and an automated WordPress migration tool. Here you create the site, copy it onto the temporary address every new site gets, check it, then point the domain. Our guide to moving your site covers the plugin route and the manual one.
Why did the bare domain need forwarding when leaving Vodien?
Our platform takes the www name, and the bare domain reaches it through an ALIAS-style record or URL forwarding. On the sites we have moved off Vodien, its DNS offered neither at the apex, so the bare name had to be handled at a registrar or DNS host that does, such as Cloudflare, before the switch. It is a one-time job, and the one step that catches people out.
Can I keep my Vodien mailboxes if I move the website?
Not here. We host WordPress and nothing else, so there are no mailboxes. Mail on your own domain belongs on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or a mail host, and the MX records stay pointed there whatever happens to the website. Vodien bundles mailboxes with its cPanel plans, which is a genuine reason to stay if that is where your staff email lives.
Does Oxyforge have a phone line or an uptime SLA?
Neither. Support is a ticket from the members area, read by the people who run the platform, with no phone line, no published response time and no uptime SLA. Vodien lists a Singapore phone number answered from 4am to 8pm, live chat at any time and a 99.9 per cent uptime guarantee. If a number in a contract is what you are buying, Vodien has one and we do not.
