A Tour Of The Members Area

The members area at my.oxyforge.com is the only control panel you get here, and it is deliberately small. There is no cPanel, no file manager full of settings you will never touch, and no server to configure. This page tells you what each part is for so you stop hunting.

Two Levels: Your Account, And One Website

When you sign in you are at account level: Dashboard, Websites, Usage and Support across the top, and your plan, team and invoices under your name in the corner. Anything that applies to all your sites at once lives here.

Click into a website and you are at site level, where a row of up to eleven tabs covers everything you can do to that one site. Nearly all the work happens here.

The Tabs At A Glance

Activity LogEverything that has been done to the site, by whom and when

Some tabs only appear when they apply. Domains and Staging are absent on temporary sites and dev sites, Transfer appears only for people allowed to delete the site, and Collaborators only for people allowed to manage the team. The One Click Admin button sits in the page header, so it is there on every tab.

Overview

Where you land. It shows the state of the site, its server region, its PHP and WordPress versions, when it was created and when it last changed. The site’s current address is in the page header; the full list of addresses is on Domains. A new website starts on a temporary address shaped like site-1a2b3c4d.oxyforge.net until you add a domain of your own.

Domains

Add the domains you own, and pick which one is the primary address, meaning the one WordPress uses and visitors end up on. See connect a domain to your website and your primary domain. Certificates are issued and renewed for you, which is why there is no certificate section to manage.

Backups

Your restore points live here, separately from your site, so a backup is not sitting on the same disk as the thing it protects. Backups do not count against your storage allowance. See how backups work and restore a backup.

Staging

A copy of the live site you can break safely. Use it for a plugin update you do not trust, a theme change, or anything a client has asked for and might not want. See staging sites.

Tools

The tab you will open most. It holds:

  • Clear Cache, for the times the page cache has not caught up with a change made outside WordPress.
  • Logs: recent PHP errors, visitor requests and PHP activity, which is where to look first when something is wrong.
  • PHP Version, with 8.3 as the default and 8.4, 8.2 and 8.1 selectable.
  • The XML-RPC switch. XML-RPC answers Jetpack only by default, which blocks bulk password guessing; switch it fully on only if an older integration needs it.
  • Delete Website. The site goes offline and leaves your account at once; we keep an archived copy for 30 days.

One Click Admin, which signs you in to WordPress without a password, is the button in the page header rather than something on this tab.

The full-page cache clears itself when you publish in WordPress. The clear cache button is for everything else, such as a change made over SFTP or straight in the database. See how caching works.

Usage

Storage and bandwidth for this site. The account totals are on the Usage page at account level, because the allowances are pooled per account rather than split per site; that page also breaks them down per website. Account storage counts your files plus your databases.

This tab is also where you cap a site, which stops one website from taking more than its share of the pool. A cap is a ceiling inside the pool, never an allowance of its own, and it can never be set above your plan. See set a usage cap on a website.

SFTP

Everything a developer needs, each behind its own switch. SFTP details, with SFTP running on port 2222 rather than the usual port and keys only, no passwords. Per-site SSH keys. And the WP-CLI switch, which lets a key run wp commands inside the site. There is no shell session at any point.

See SFTP access, SSH keys and WP-CLI.

Collaborators

Where you let other people into one website without handing over your account login. This is the right way to give a developer access for a fortnight, because you can take it away again.

Password Protect

Puts a password in front of the whole site, before WordPress sees the request. Use it on a site you are building, or one that is finished but not announced. Search engines cannot index what they cannot open. See password protect a site.

Transfer

The other half of Transfer A Website. You generate a code, the other person uses it, and the site moves to their account. Agencies use this at the end of a build so the client owns their own hosting.

Activity Log

Every action taken on the site, who took it and when: restores, domain changes, cache clears, logins through One Click Admin, protection switched on or off. When something changed and nobody remembers doing it, this is where the answer is.

Where Support Lives

Support is a ticket from the members area, not an email address. Opening a ticket next to your websites means whoever picks it up can already see the account, the site and the usage, so you are not asked for proof of who you are before anyone can help.

What You Will Not Find

There is no email section, because we host no mailboxes. There is no domain registration, because we do not sell domains. There is no shell or root access to the server, and no LiteSpeed cache panel, because the caching is ours and it is already on. If you are looking for one of those, the thing you want is somewhere else by design rather than hidden.

Did this answer it? If not, open a ticket from the members area and someone who runs the platform will pick it up.
